FAQ

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

YES! Children are always welcome!

WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING?

Sunglasses, hats, SUNSCREEN, food/drinks (beer is okay), rain/cold weather gear(depending on season), sea sickness medication if you are going on an offshore trip.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED/ WHERE DO WE MEET?

We are located out of Cape Canaveral for our Nearshore, Offshore, and Deep Sea trips. On our Inshore trips, ramp locations will vary depending on previous fishing and weather conditions as we fish 3 different lagoon bodies and generally cover a lot of ground. I typically contact my clients the afternoon prior to all my trips to both confirm and give them the address & time, as weather and fishing are factors that constantly change.

IS GRATUITY INCLUDED IN PRICE?

Gratuity is not included in the price and it is customary to tip 15-20% for excellent service. We work hard to make sure you're having a great time and experience on the water and tips allow us to pay our bills! Thank you!

IS THE TRIP PRICE PER PERSON OR FOR MULTIPLE PEOPLE?

Trip prices are for the trip in total, not per person. The amount of persons included in the trip total depends on which trip you choose. Certain trips(like inshore trips) are for 1-2 persons, while others(like Deep sea trips) are for 1-6 persons.

WHAT IS PROVIDED AND DO WE NEED FISHING LICENSES?

Fishing licenses are provided. The boat, fuel, fishing gear, tackle, licenses & permits, bait, Ice, waters, Fish cleaning & bagging for offshore/deep sea and nearshore trips(Inshore is Catch and Release).

IS CATCHING FISH GUARANTEED?

I can guarantee that I will exhaust all options trying to both catch fish and ensure you are having a great time. However, fishing is fishing, and I cannot control all the factors involved (i.e. weather, currents, water quality, etc). I will say that it is extremely rare that we catch nothing. And while we don't always catch the exact fish we'd like, we almost always catch some fish!

DO YOU CATCH MORE FISH ON A FULL DAY THAN A HALF DAY?

Every day is different. Some days are better than others and there is no definite answer I can give for this question. Sometimes we catch more fish on full days and sometimes we catch more on half days, it all depends on the day. This also depends on the type of trip and time of year you are wanting to fish. Just give me a call and let me know what you're looking to do and when, and I will do my best to steer you in the correct direction.

WHY IS INSHORE CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY?

Most fishing guides have gone to catch and release in our areas inshore waters due to a great many problems that our estuary is experiencing. This is a very complicated issue that I could literally go on for hours about, but I will do my best to try and summarize for everyone.

Over the last decade, we have had some major fish kills due to algae that has been brought on by pollution issues. There have been quite a few articles published about these issues and concerns for the safety of people eating anything out of our inshore waters. It is due to these safety concerns that I no longer keep fish from the lagoons. This does not mean that there are no fish in the lagoons, but it has just become too much of a liability for me to let my customers eat anything from them. If you are looking to purely keep fish and that's all that is important to you, I would recommend an offshore trip. If you are looking to have a great time and catch some good fish then inshore is always a great option, especially when it is too rough to fish offshore!

CAN WE KEEP FISH ON OFFSHORE/DEEP SEA TRIPS?

Yes, absolutely! As long as it is legal, you are more than welcome to keep it.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO GO FISHING?

This is another question that there is no specific answer for. I would say it depends on what you'd like to do. We fish year round, but sometimes are better than others for different kinds of fishing. If you're looking to do something specific just give me a call, and I'll do my best to clarify the best times for whatever it may be you're looking to catch!

CAN WE SPLIT A CHARTER WITH SOMEONE ELSE?

Unfortunately, neither I, or any other private charters I know offer split trips anymore. The main reason for this is pretty simple - it is hard to cater to different parties with different ideas and goals. On top of that, if one party decides not to show up, it would leave the other party out of a trip. By focusing on a singular party, it allows us to provide excellent service and focus on you and yours catching fish!

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF PEOPLE YOU CAN TAKE?

The maximum amount of persons depends on the type of trip and what you're looking to accomplish. I have 2 boats and each one is meant for a different purpose and has a different max capacity. If you're looking to fly fish inshore waters than 2 persons would be the max. If you're looking to spin fish inshore than 4 persons would be the max. And if you're looking at an offshore/deep sea trip than 6 persons would be the max. If you have more in your party than 6, you'll likely need another boat to accommodate you, as most charter captain licenses and vessels only allow for up to 6 for hire passengers. Multiple boat trips can be easily arranged for you, just let me know when you call.

WHAT TYPE OF TRIP WILL CATCH US THE MOST FISH?

There is no set answer for this question. I would say it all depends on when you're looking to go and if you'd like to keep fish or not. If you're looking to keep fish, an offshore trip is what I recommend as we do not keep fish inshore. If you're just looking to catch as much as possible, I would advise booking a trip for the "Best Bite" (whatever fishing is doing best at the time of your trip). I would then call to confirm the afternoon prior to your trip and go over previous fishing, weather, and other considerations and allow you to either pick what sounds best, or allow me to choose for you which option I think will be the best for catching the most.

CAN WE SWITCH TO INSHORE IF IT IS TOO ROUGH TO GO OFFSHORE THE DAY OF OUR TRIP?

Yes! Inshore is always a great backup if the ocean looks like it's not going to cooperate. Inshore waters are very protected and can almost always be fished regardless of wind. Inshore fishing is catch and release and is also limited to a max of 4 persons in a single boat.

IS THERE A CREDIT CARD PROCESSING FEE?
